Can't change UAC to administrator

Hi all. Newbie moderately skilled user running Vista Home 32. I lost my flash player and can't re-install it. I've deleted the flash files and re-installed several times and deleted my macromed folder and re-installed. I think the issue is in the UAC. When I try to change the UAC account type to administrator I can click on the administrator dot but the change account type box fades and I can not select it.

In advanced user profile properties there is a user name ending in a \IUSR_NMPR and then the user name that I use. I can not delete either. Any ideas. Thanks in advance.

See if you can use this. If so use it and then hide it again. It is for emergency use only.

Try in safe mode, if you cannot access in the regular fashion.

Are you currently in an Administrator account?

Can you get ownership and permission for the files in quesion?

Thanks Rich. I tried to get to the elevated command prompt but could not get a prompt without the user name.

I was afraid of that.

Hope you are trying in safe mode, if any remedy fails because of lack of access.

Did you try this one yet, you did not say? It should work if you cannot login to your Adm account.

Try gaining access to your account by using the above tutorial

If any files are not allowing you to proceed as you desire, make sure that you have ownership and have permission for all the actions. Right click on the program go to properties then security for permission and then advanced, to take ownership.

Read the above posts. I have made changes, trying to cover everything in sequence.
