File or folder missing issue

just noticed when I created a new folder it would not let me rename it and it gave me the error file or folder does not exist. I can copy, move, delete but no rename ANT file on my pc.

Found a few reg fixes but none seem to work.

No viruses that i can find

Any ideas?

Ok, I followed your steps.
Offline files were NOT enabled so I enabled them, rebooted, disabled them, rebooted, ran the .reg file and rebooted.

No change. I still can not rename any files.

Also for some reason I see a new directory on the drive c:\boot.
In that folder there are two files, BCD.log and a BCD no file extension.
I do not remember seeing that b4. I tried to delete them and was told that
I could not as the process is in use by another file.

Any ideas?

No I did not take ownership of the file. I should not have to. It is not a case of 1 isolated folder. It applies to ANY folder or FILE on my pc.

Also, if that is the boot manager why is it it was never there before?

Sorry I don't have all the answers, The reason I asked if you did the Take Ownership part is because it says if it does not work the first way you should try that.

If you also did step two of that tutorial, Restore Registry Settings, Then you may want to try this tutorial to find and fix any corrupt files,
