Wireless mouse wakes computer, then freezes

My Dad's new Logitech wireless mouse will wake the computer, but then hangs with the blue circle for 20-30 seconds before working.

We're tried the MS and Logitech drivers for it, enabled it to wake computer in Device Mgr, tried High Perf power settings, everything except resetting mouse as he is afraid it won't work (wants me to do it when I visit in May) and I'm not sure what it resets exactly.

Any other suggestions?

Hello Greg,

You can use the STEP FIVE section in the tutorial below to disable the mouse from being able to wake up the computer, then just use the keyboard instead to wake up the computer.

Brink, I had my Dad disable mouse from being able to wake computer in Device Manager.

He then restarted the computer, put it to sleep, verified mouse wouldn't wake it, then used keyboard to wake it and mouse still hung 20-30 seconds with blue circle.

The strange thing about this is that mouse WILL wake the computer when set to do so, but then hangs before it will otherwise function.

Any other ideas?

You might see if uninstalling and reinstalling the latest 4.8 logitech driver and your video driver may help. It's the same drivers that I use in Windows 7, but I do get the hanging only just every once in a while instead.
