Hey, as you can see I'm new to this forum, and I'm confused. My question is that on some of the more frequent users, there are little bars under their name and it says thing like Vista Guru, Supporter, Gold member etc. And I was wondering, what do these mean?

Skizzer as a member you are family. Ask as many as you like

On the top of your screen you see 3 icons. One is a scale (in the middle) to me it looks like a snow flake. If you ask a question and you like the answer, you click on that icon. You will be giving the answerer rep (reputation). If you like my answer the most you can give is 1, you are new. If I like your answer I can give 53, I a senior man.

Read everything and ask as many questions as you like.

Number of rep you can gives depend on time as a member,) and number of rep points that you have received


Stick around, like I have, and learn and enjoy.

I like it here for several reasons. 1) The best way to learn is to teach. I have learned so much in the past few months.

2) Feels so good when you actually help someone fix their computer. My best support was a Mother, Chrismas time, who did something her her daughters Christmas Gift setting up parental controls. She could no longer long on. I feel that I saved that Chrismas for both Mother and Daughter. Unseen, but the arel friends.

Rep power is the amount that I can give you. It does not move all at once. As soon as I get enough, from members like you, to go to another round number 100, 200 300 etc, I get one more rep that I can give.

To GET rep you must give good answers. You liked my answer so you gave me 1 rep


The amount that you can GIVE depends on the amount of rep that you have received, and the length of time here.

So if you were here a long time and gave a lot of good answers, you will be able to give me a lot of rep

If you were here a short time and your answers are not liked, you will not be able to GIVE me much rep.

What you get is called rep
The amount that you can give is called rep power.

I think I am understanding it. You can have more Rep, than rep power?

Yes, that is the way it works. When you get 100 rep, you get a skilled badge. The top badge, now is Guru.

Haha, so... one more question, where do I find out how much rep I have?

Right now, you probably have none. But on the top of your screen on the left, you see User CP (Control Panel) Click on that and look around. Make sure you see the whole thing, You may have to scroll to see the bottom.
