ACPI Causing My CPU Fan To Always Run(Even at idle)

I've been trying to solve this fan issue for quite a couple of days now and I came to the conclusion that if there's anyone who will probably have a solution it's Brink.

The issue specifically is my CPU Fan is always on when idle or gaming(Exact fan noise level), resulting in consistent noise. I'm certain this is an ACPI problem that is causing this. Please help.

My PC Specs (Dell XPS 720):

Q6600
2 Gigs of ram
8800GTX
Windows Vista 32bit

It's a bios issue, lookup the vendor and download the latest bios for your motherboard. Google "flash bios" for a how-to

Hello Taheed,
Has it just started, or has it done this from day one ?.
One thing you can check, go to the Bios and look for "CPU Quiet Fan", you may find it in "Hardware Health Monitoring", it will disabled as default, enable it and see if there is any improvement.
Hope this helps, good luck and post your results.

Hello Taheed,
Has it just started, or has it done this from day one ?.
I recently notice this by having the PC in a more quiet environment.

Unfortunately, my bios doesn't show CPU Quiet Fan as an option. My current Bios is up to date, which is the A06 version for the XPS 720.

Have you checked the CPU temps, or does it go fast from startup ?.

Those temps are ok, my cpu fan runs constant too. My rig is quiet, in another room away from my Listening Room.

I notice recently that when I play a game like Crysis my PC will generate much more noise and heat then it use too. I decided to make an effort to buy some compressed air cans tomorrow to clean my PC. In addition, I'm searching for a new CPU fan that maybe offers a good solution for quiet and cooling efficiency compared to my current one. Certainly appreciate the assist from everyone here :)

One small problem I'm having is the way the socket is position on my motherboard.

I never seen a socket position like that

Interesting board! I have an Intel MB and my old CPU fan (Dynatron) began to make a terrible noise after about a year. I don't game but enjoy a quiet and efficient rig. Long story short...ended up replacing it 6 months ago with a Thermaltake TMG i2 for my E8400 CPU with no OC. Made in Germany, 6 year warranty, long life bearing, semi-easy installation. Keeps the dual core temps around 36/36c at idle and 40/41c ( I run RealTemp) when I use Photoshop. BTW your temps look good and all 4 cores show consistency in the readings which is important. Also blowing out the dust bunnies will help with the overall cooling.
