Solved Unable to open a program

"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

I tried to open proxy switcher program but everytime i do, this error occurs. Previously, I was able to open the program several times until i uninstalled it. A few days later, I re-installed the program again and tried to use it. But was unable to. I tried to turn on DEP for all programs and services except those i select which includes proxy switcher program. It dont seem to work either. Help please.

un-install the program.
Follow this tutorial. It will check your file system for errors.

Re-install the program as administrator, right click the .exe and choose "Run as administrator".

There are lots of reasons why a program will stop working, but hopefully it will be something simple.
Try this and post your results, good luck.

Thanks for the quick reply.. It dont seem to work though. I hsve checked my system files several times but no errors and no repairs operation was performed. However, i scanned my laptop with anti-malware and detected trojans. I removed those and scanned again with windows defender, windows security essential and anti-malware. No trojans were detected. I re-installed the program(run as administrator), the error still appears.

Is the program Vista compatible ?. Check on the programs home site, just to be sure.

FIXED!! I found out that the program was not compatible with vista. I have installed newer version of the program and it worked.

Now that everything is working the way it should. Make an image of your hard drive and put it on an external hard drive. If you back it up on a regular basis, you can always return to the image in the case of problems.

The best free software for making the image is Paragon. If interested, I will get you the link.
