windows updates

I have a computer that is 6 months old that is Windows Vista . I started with Time Warner and they provide CA Security Suite free with service. About the time I got the CA Security- Window Updates could not be installed. Is the CA firewall preventing the updates? CA doesn't respond to my inquiry. I contacted Time Warner and they tried to help...but didn't complete the job.

Just turn it off while trying to download the updates to find out for sure. Alternatively many A/V allow you to specfiically set certain activites as permitted.

You could set your updated to notify when there are new downloads, you can do it manually with the A/V off.
