Help! Unmountable Boot Volume Troubles

Hi,

I was wondering if anybody could give me some help on my vista problem.

I'm having problems getting my laptop to start up, it's a Advent 5431. Every time I turn it on it the "Error Recovery" screen comes up and says that there was a hardware/software failure. It gives me two options: to run windows normally, or to launch the startup repair. I've tried both of them hundreds of times and after the green loading bar finishes (takes longer than normal), I get a Blue screen come up.

The blue screen says "Unmountable_boot_volume" and goes onto say "A problem was detected and windows has been shut downto prevent damage to your computer". It also tells me to check new hardware or software recently installed (which to my memory I can't recall installing anything) and to disable BIOS memory options like caching/shadowing which I'm not really sure I want to mess with.

I did a bit of Googling and discovered that it was most likely a Hard Drive corruption of some kind. So I tried Safe Mode along with safe mode networking and command prompt and after it goes through all of the drivers they all get stuck on "crcdisk.sys" which I'm guessing is most likely a corrupt file in my hard drive.

Having bought the laptop from PC World/The tech guys, it came with no installation disk, so I bought one from eBay hoping I could auto repair it, or even reinstall windows if I have to. I put it in and it tells me to press any key to boot from CD/DVD which I do, then the green bar loads onto a black screen which takes about 10 minutes to load onto the blank vista background where I can see the arrow mouse icon, very slow indeed. I've waited for about 3 hours stuck on this page and got frustrated so I've turned it off. I've tried a few more times and the furthest I've got to is after selecting a language box appears, something about windows vista with partitions size (which is 0 for some reason) which i cant even click OK on because the hour glass is just there, I clicked around and the box disappeared and then froze again for ages.

I'm starting to get at wits end over this problem and would like to know if there are any solutions to this? Any way to sort this out?

All help will be appreciated.

Thanks
