I have various printers installed on my Vista machine, but for some reason I do not see the "select printer" dialog box when I print. The prointers all work when I change the default printer, but this is a time consuming process, and I would much rather see the printer dialog box. Can anyone tell me what I did to cause this behavior, and more importantly - how to stop it and get my printer dialog box back??

Don't know how to get that function back, but if you're referring to printing from an Office 2007 doc (Word, Excel, etc.), here's a work-around that might help: in Word, for example, you won't have a printer selection box, per se, but when you click on "Print" and the screen opens up, where you see the name of the printer, it doesn't look like it, but it's actually a drop down menu that you can open up and select your printer.

This is just a shot in the dark but do you know for certain the Print Spooler is running?
Try net start spooler
in an administrative command prompt.
If it's already running it shouldn't hurt anything.
