Do you have any DVD/CD burning software, such as Roxio, or Macrium, or any other type of software connected with the DVD/CD drive ?.
If you do, disable it, or remove it, it is more than likely that it is something like that, interfering with your DVD/CD drive.
Good luck and post your results.
Stoneys, no, the computer is freshly refomrated, nothing on it at all, my device manager says that everything is working perfectly, but says any disk I put in, and I mean any, is not a format that window recognizes.
any other tips?
There are two main types of format, Are windows and the CD on the same format
Is it a disc that is not formatted at all?
If so put it in the drive and select format.
it has to be the same format, It is warcraft, then I put in sims3, then I put in a music CD, then I put in a few DVDs, it says that none of them are a format that windows recognizes, when they ALL worked before the reformat, the drivers are all up to date.
OK that was my first try, lets go with this
The CD drive or the DVD drive does not work as expected on a computer that you upgraded to Windows Vista
I deleted the upper and lower filter, but the problem is still happening.
any other ideas? thanks.
