Cant click OK tab in Vista

Can anyone help me,i cant click OK tab in Vista and this problem trouble me when windows ask me for permision..Can anyone tell me how to fix it?"

Why cant you click on the OK tab, is it a mouse problem or is the input having no effect ?.

windows vista home premium 32-bit SP3.
my mouse work fine.
this problem occured after i put this

"net user administrator /active:no" in commnd prompt to Disable the Hidden Built-in Administrator Account,and then windows ask for password and i didnt type anything and cotinue to click OK.

Hi,

This is going to sound silly, but can you run:

"net user administrator /active:yes"

in Safe Mode? It sound like you may not be able to. Why did you disable the root Administrator account? What were you trying to achieve? As a temporary measure, you could try to disable UAC from Safe Mode. See this tutorial by Brink: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/48893-user-account-control-uac.html Make sure you are disabling it for your user account.

errr, can you try to explain your problem more clearly? how did this happen in the first place?

Hi,

I have just had a brainwave! Download pstools.zip from here: PsTools and extract all the files except for pdh.dll into your C:\Windows\System32\ directory. Then open a Command Prompt as an Administrator is you can and type:

psexec.exe -i -s cmd.exe

and press enter. In the new Command Prompt that opens (as the Root System), type

net user administrator /active:yes

and press enter again. Hopefully this will circumvent the Access Denied message. (hopefully) You could also try this from Safe Mode.

EDIT: Only import pdh.dll if it is not already in your System32 folder. Do not overwrite the current pdh.dll.

cannot import the pstool file into C:\Windows\System32\ directory.access denied.:mad:
and may i know,if i run the system restore,will all my file gonna be deleted?:confused:

Hi,

If you mean a complete restore from PC backup then your files will be in the state you last backed them up, but if you just mean a normal System Restore, your Windows files will be returned to the previous state, any extra programs installed from the last restore point will be lost, but your personal documents will be kept (you should however back up anything really, really important and in strange places, just in case)

However, if you want one more way to try to fix it, extract the pstools suite to a memory stick (including pdh.dll) and change the Command Prompt to that directory before running psexec.exe with the parameters given above.

However, System Restore seems like a logical and easy choice.
