Another Wake issue

Ok, I've had this on-going problem but it's never really bothered me until now. I have Vista 64 and built a HTPC for home.

I have a Vantec internal hot-swap drive which seems to be the reason why my PC won't come out of Sleep S3 mode. If I don't have the drive, it wakes up fine, but with it in, it'll display the desktop and I can move the mouse for like 30 seconds, then everything freezes.

Things I've tried
- Updated HD Driver and Rolled back to previous
- Turned off DEP
- in Msconfig, turned off all start-up except for System
- Reformatted the HD (60 gigs)
- Changed between S1/S3

The only thing I've found from the Event Logs is the "Driver Blocked due to Compatibility issues..." but it's for a nVidia Driver, I don't think it's related..

Anyone have idea's?

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, I have gone through that particular configuration/troubleshooting guide, as well as others, with no success.

The thing that strikes me is without the swap drive, the PC wakes up properly. But with the drive it always hangs once it gets to the desktop.

My friend has a similiar setup and his htpc doesn't hang with the drive in...but the only difference is I have a 60 gig toshiba HD and he has a 250 wd...

It has so be some startup or driver issue, but I don't know where to go now with troubleshooting.
