My comp is screwed!

Alright. So about two weeks ago i got this vista male ware about my comp being infected. I know for a fact that my computer can't get effected by viruses since i'm already protected so not sure why it popped up. So i tried to reboot it back to factory settings and my screen kept shutting off when i did that. Then i forced it to shut off by holding down the power button and now my comp won't go into windows no more. I tried to use a windows 7 CD to fix it but it's getting me no where. And i can't system repair it since it says i need a vista CD which i don't have. So now my comp is to the point where it's crap. Can't reboot with Cd and can't system restore etc. Any suggestions that would make my comp run again?

Welcome Zeemore,

Sorry that you are having problems. Try to boot your computer in safe mode. Hit f8 repeatedly during boot. If you can get to that point, try a system restore to a much earlier time, prior to the malware.

If that cannot be done, try to boot in safe mode and installl this software to remove the malware Malwarebytes.org

Hope this helps.

Take this one step at a time:

"I know for a fact that my computer can't get effected by viruses since i'm already protected"

Unless you are not connected to the internet, you are subject to viruses and malware. Evan with taking precautionary steps by installing antivirus programs and whatnot you are unfortantly subject to vulnebilities.

"So i tried to reboot it back to factory settings and my screen kept shutting off when i did that. Then i forced it to shut off by holding down the power button"

Sounds like you a a now corrupted OS.

"since it says i need a vista CD which i don't have."

If, I can assume correctly, you are using vista. If so then of course Windows 7 will not repair it. How did you load the original OS? Can you borrow a copy of vista OS from somebody to do a repair?

THanks for the info. But right now i don't know anybody that has a vista CD. My cousin does but it's for a asus laptop. So i hardly doubt it would work, Still would try though. Thanks.
