INSTALLING VISTA W/out DISC

Hey.
I had Vista Premium on my Toshiba Laptop. Tried to make partition w/ linux and deleted my whole OS! I dont have a restore disc, so can anyone tell me if I can install Vista Premium again???
P.S. I had an upgrade disc but it will only install basic, therefore, I couldnt use the premium key code so I had to use my desktop's code too get it to run till I get Premium back up and running...

Re: INSTALLING VISTA W/out DISC

Hi,

If you have a Recovery Partition, then here are the instructions for Toshiba:

"To access the Toshiba recovery partition, power off the laptop. Hold down the 0 (zero) key and turn the laptop on. Keep holding down the zero key until the TOSHIBA logo appears, where you should start tapping the zero key repeatedly. Stop if the unit beeps or when the TOSHIBA logo disappears. The screen should flash ** HDD RECOVERY MODE ** for a split second, then load the Toshiba recovery program right from the hard drive.

Note that this erases all data, and reloads all factory default software. Be sure to back up all your important personal data beforehand"

However, this will install whatever OS is on the Recovery Partition. Can you please re-explain which OS your computer came with and what you upgraded to? Remember, this will wipe all data (but it sound like you may have already done this) If you do still have a hard disk you really need to access, you could use a Linux Live CD, BartPE or VistaPE.

Thanks,

Richard
