Vista Upgrade from XP downgrade

I have a HP mini that came with Vista with an XP downgrade. Iwould like to return to Vista but when I start the install it will not let me upgrade because of an unattended file. I really don't want to install on a partion, can anyone help?

Thanks for the reply, but I want to undo an XP over Vista installion that came with the HP Mini. When I start the Vista disc that came with the HP it tells me upgrade not allowed due to the unattended file.

I suggest you go here and read these Uninstall XP, Installing Vista.Install, reinstall, or uninstall Windows - Help & How-to - Microsoft Windows. The link I gave you earlier was in correspondence with these two tutorials from Windows Help. Let me know how you make out.
