Hey, i recently formatted and reinstalled windows on my computer and for some reason i have had nothing but trouble since.... a run down of my problems, i had 4gb of ram now she will only run on 2gb, she used to be really fast at booting up and shuting down and now i can flick her on and have my breakfast before she has even thought about doing anything. I had a nosey in the event logger and amongst the hundred of errors daily, the one mark BOOT ERROR, is this one.... does this mean anything to anyone?

Or does anyone have any ideas? no viruses, hard drives are defragged and check disked.... for the record when she is on she is fine, no problems, just booting up and shutting down it starts playing up

Hello Sebo001, welcome to Vista Forums!

Have a look at the tutorial at the link below to see if there's some things you can clean out of the "Startup File", where progs/apps are added to have them start when the PC is booted up. You may have too many things trying to start all at once.

okay, for your RAM. Is the vista that you installed, a 32 bit or 64bit os?

If it is 64 bit and u only using 2gb of it go to:

msconfig

boot tab

advanced options

look at the check box that says memory usage or something like that, and check it and set t to 4,000 mb

also do that same with the processor part except set it to the amount of cores that u have.

uncheck everything from start up, go to Black Viper's Web Site and follow their services gide under services.msc

check your drivers, make sure that you have vista sp1 and/or sp2, if u only have sp1, update to sp2.
