Ok, installed xp fresh copy, legit.
Installed drivers cd that came with motherboard.
After Installation of all updates from M$ (I have to have every update because of my job), I use my USB flash drive I use it for EVERYTHING!
I get the following "Windows - Delayed write failure."
OK, go see what happened at the flash drive, shows in my computer but when i access it its blank.
Unplug it and plug it back in, works fine until i start to transfer files.

Installed Vista Home Premium clean install legit.
Installed motherboard drivers cd again.
Update windows vista with every update available (119 updates).
Plug in USB drive, transfer files and after a few seconds...
"File not found" error.
Go to my computer the drive is there but when you access it its blank, just like in xp except the error isnt the same.
Its like Vista "forgets" where my usb drive is.

Any help is appreciated, If I have left anything out please tell me so I can help you help me.

Thanks!

Hello JAP989 Welcome to VF,

Based up what you said i suspect its something wrong with your USB Drive. Is it happening with other USB drive or just this one ?? If its just this one i would recommend to run Disk check to see whether something is wrong with it. There are lot of applcaition that would check your USB drive

Hope this helps,
Captain

Thanks so much for replying Capt.

Unfortunately I tried two different flash drives (a 4 gb and my 8 gb) I tried repairing my
8 gb drive and retried but both of my drives still are "forgotten". I'm starting to wonder if its with the USB controllers that are installed on my motherboard via my Biostar driver cd.

It happens both when i use a USB extension cable and plugged straight into a USB port.
I tried to update my controllers through device manager but it says they are up to date.
I tried to find a M$ update to fix USB controllers but no dice there either.

Any help is appreciated, If I have left anything out please tell me so I can help you help me.
