saving a folder to a cd disc

I was saving a folder that had a lot of my information in it to a cd disc and I saw the info in it but when I put the cd in the slot it just reads "drag files to this folder to add them to the disc."

I don't remember dragging anything and where did my folder go that was on my desktop? I have looked in the recycle bin but can't find it at all. Have I permanently lost this folder? Please help. Why does it say drag files and how do I not do this in the future?

I am so upset that I can't find out what is on this disk. Can I put it in someone else's computer and see it? Thanks DH

It might be saved as multiple sessions. Sometimes you need to use the burner software to look at the files in each session. Explorer won't show them all until you finalize the disc. This is one reason I recommend burning even erasable discs as if they were CDR and finalizing. Then you usually can see all the files in Explorer. That type of media isn't stable/dependable. It's really only good for test burns. But burning as CDR tends to work better than InCD type of usage.
