ReadyBoost Is Slower????

Used to use all 4096MB of Readyboost, Recently I stopped using it and my system feels overall faster. Does ReadyBoost actually give much of an edge???

I have read, in a forum, that ready boost is mostly hype.

As far as I have used it, ReadyBoost didn't do anything much. Forget it, and install more RAM if you really need it. Optimize your PC for the best performance by defragging, cleaning up temp files, history, thumbnails and the registry. Disable visual themes to improve performance.

Readyboost actually slows down the computer in some circumstances, and in others speeds it up. If you have a computer with not enough RAM, Readyboost is there so your computer can use that instead of pagefile.

Readyboost is using a USB flashdrive for an alternative to Page File. It's a ot faster than page file, but is slower than regular RAM. If you do not have enough RAM, use a USB drive capable of Readyboost, since it is faster than page file. You can also use SD cards for this.
