Windows Media Player problems

Hi,

Whenever I click the link to open an online radio station windows media
player within internet explorer just says Ready - it doesn't even begin to
buffer and doesn't play at all. Has anyone else experienced this recently?

Hi,

Rename the "Windows Media" folder in this directory to "Windows Media.OLD":

"C:\Users\{Your User Name}\AppData\Local\Microsoft\"

Does this fix the issue?

I renamed the folder but still no luck.Is there anything else I could try?Oh and thanks heaps for helping out dude its much appreciated!

Make sure you are using Windows Media Player 11, Internet Explorer 8, and a fully updated Windows. Is this correct?

Has this just started? Have you made any recent changes? Can you please provide me the link to one of the websites with this problem? Is it all websites or just some? Is it just radio shows, or video as well?

Some things to try:

1) Go to one of the problem pages and try to play. When it fails, right-click on it and click on Error Details if this option exists. Send me the details if you can.

2) Open Command Prompt. To do this, Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialogue. Type "cmd" and press enter. Go past the UAC prompt if necessary. in Command Prompt, type "sfc /scannow" and press enter. If integrity violations are found, upload the logs. Hi,

Have you tried my other suggestions? If you have, you could do a non-destructive Repair Install of Vista. This may mean you have to slipstream a Vista disk. I will think about this over night, but don't get your hopes up. Also, another member might have an idea.

Hello,

You could try Fix WMP Utility from thewindowsclub, which re-registers all concerned dll’s required for the smooth functioning of Windows Media Player. Also try to reset the IE to default settings and disable the add-ins in IE it might be some add-ins that is messing things up.
