Display resolution distorted

Hi everyone.
I would be very grateful for helping reply.
Few days ago I was playing a comp game when my display resolution appeared distorted. In order to find a solution I went through all necessary steps that are given by bloger in internet: Start button

, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Display Settings. My display is set at 1280 x 800 pixels that is maximum here but it still looks distorted. I mean control panel, internet explorer, icons, even fonts look bigger then they were. Please help me!! ㅠㅠ

Desktop>right click personalize>display. Make appropriate changes

Or

In IE bottom right just above the clock, change the % maginigication that is shown.

If you do not see it. Go to top of IE. In bar that show File, view, tools etc (menu bar). Right click and check status bar

If you could give us some system specs, it may help us help you.
In the meantime try re-installing your video drivers.

Also, look in the Event Viewer to see if there are any errors flagged up there that may give us a clue as to what is causing this.

Have you tried to set the resolution through the video card control panel ?.
