Downloaded sp2 computer very much slower

Vista 32 home premium

Downloaded service pack 2 now machine takes 4 times as long to start up to password screen and 3 times as long to shut down.

Please: Something is now constantly running in background. What commands do I type in to find out what is running in background (ie in win98 you hit ctrl alt dlt to find out)???

Also an icon is now on for security center not on. When I click turn on it says it can't.

I am very sorry I downloaded this sp2.

I only use Firefox to surf btw.

Can I fix this mess?.....Thanks for any response

Many have had problems with the SP. You can uninstall it or as I prefer a system restore to put everything back the way it was.

YOu can still use alt cntl delete, it brings up the task mangager, look under process and you can see what is running. You can also try to type process explorer, in search, To see what is using resources.

It is suggested that you do not make the change. Possibly, we at the forum, can help you. Support will be ending shortly, if you do not have SP2.

Thank You Rich I may wait a couple of days then uninstall it. The difference is pretty crazy.
