    I'm having Hard Disk Failure

Hey guys, My name is Matthew N. Moreira. You can call me matt. I heard of you guys from my gaming friend DrmWarrior. He said that ou guys could help me with my Hard Disk Failure problem.

When I turn on my PC it says 'Hard Disk Failure is imminent. Please back up your hard disk and have it replaced!' I am not a very techy guy but I try to fix all my computer problems on my own or with the help of friends or family..

I have a Sea Gate hard disk enternal and its model number is ST3360320AS however I can not get Seagate tools to read the Serial Number.. The seagate support told me that I should see the serial number from the device itself on my pc.. But I don't know where to look. He gave me a warranty validation form to fill out but I need that serial number..

I'm thinking I might just back up my hard disk and replace it because I heard that I can get a good hard drive with 500 gig for arround $40.00 - $75.00.

I realy need help because I need my computer for school/ my GED courses online - and Gaming..

    Thanks, Matt

    Hello Matt,

Open up your computer and usually down the bottom you should see your hard disk bays. Remove that hard disk (sometimes clips, screws, each computer is different) and the hard disk should pull out. Note, you may have to pull off the two cables first. Turn your hard disk over and look for a big label (usually white and on the bottom for Seagate) and there should be your serial number written on it. Note, if the label is not visible, then you may have to remove the plastic/metal casing around the hard disk. This IS NOT opening the hard disk, just removing the plastic that secures it to the hard disk bay. If you have trouble, just ask and to see what your label should look like, see here: SerialNumberLocator
