I have lost the right-hand click function on my mouse

I have recently accepted a Windows Update and it seems that after this I lost the right-hand click function on my mouse. I generally use a toolbar from the taskbar at the bottom of IE8, I can still highlight this but cannot see any sub-menu's, any ideas what could be the problem.

Try going to control panel>mouse, make sure button configuration is not checked.

I have checked out your suggestion, button not checked. On reflection I have noticed that the loss of the functionality is only when I am at the desktop. When I am in a program, there is no problem.

Why not make a restore point and remove the update and see what happens. A better alternative in my mind, however, is to just use System restore to go back to before the update and see what happens.

Yes, I can do, but then I will not have the benefit of the Windows Upgrade. But I suppose that's life.
