getting some scratchy static on WMC playback
First time I've heard it. TV audio single coming thru Windows Media Center now has some scratchy audio/static.
I don't think it's the cable.

What do you have for a soundcard?
I had a Creative Live SB a while back that got worse and worse with scratchy sounds coming through it. It seemed that the louder the music was, the louder the scratchy/static got.
Went back to onboard sound for a while until I got another card.

would the sound card be the same for iTunes as well as WMC? Playback on iTunes audio is unaffected. This is for TV audio thru WMC.

Yeah, it would be for everything you hear coming out, regardless what it is. So, I guess that rules the sound card out as the problem.
I'd assume it would be something between the TV audio connection and WMC. That's about all that is left.
