Empty recycle bin button does not work

Hi all,

Checked several posts but could not fix my problem. So if anyone can help I would be very thankfull.

The "empty recycle bin" button does not work any more.
So also with a refresh, my deleted files are still visible.
The other buttons (like "restore all items" works fine)


If I select the files and press delete, than my files will be deleted from the recycle bin (So I can delete from the recycle bin).

Any help would be welcome.

However I tried the download and the manual method, but it is still doesn't work.

I also deleted the $recycle bin. Windows created a new one, but the problem is still there.

Ok now I am helping witout the help of the tuts. Try this

Go to search type the letters cmd, then do not hit enter. Run the command as administrator.

Then is cmd type this sfc /scannow. Lets see what happens.

If that does not work, use system restore from before the problem.

Hi Richard,

Sfc did not find any problems.
System restore would probably solve the problem, but I would like to know how this button is being controlled (so what causes the problem).

An educated guess would be a registry tweek is needed. I do not know if such drastic and potentially dangerous procedure is warranted.
