vista screensaver.. pls help....

hi,
I somehow have managed to delete my default vista screensaver , u know the one that says windows vista and does that aero animation, i was wondering if someone could tell me how to install it back from the dvd or maybe download it from somewhere,coz i have searched in my windows folder and it is not there,and i really like that screensaver the basic one, so plsssssss help. thanks in advance.:(

Your screen savers are in C:\Windows\System32\
Just scroll down to the one you want.

First, make sure it isn't "deleted". That would be hard to delete.

1. Right click on your desktop
2. Click "personalize"
3. Click "screensaver" and see if it isn't still there. If there, simply select it.

If it isn't there I would do a system Restore to a date before you deleted it

yes, it is the aurora, when i go in to screensaver there are others present ribbons etc. just not aurora one,i did system restore,it did not came back.

Hello,

If you are sure of all the following:

  • You have truly deleted it, and have check that it is not in C:\Windows\System32
  • SFC has not fixed the problem
  • You are sure it is Aurora that you are missing, not the Windows Logo screensaver
download the file attached, and put aurora.scr into your C:\Windows\System32 folder. If it asks you to overwrite, say NO and tell us.
