Printers Have Disappeared

I have an HP LaserJet 1022 and an Epson R1900. They both have worked fine for 2 years. Yesterday they both disappeared, I can't find them anywhere on my computer. I am instructed to "Add a Printer," but where are they? Everything is plugged in and the connections are tight.

One thing: I kept getting this message--"Spooler SubSystem App stopped working and was closed." I found out from this forum how to get it started again.

But still no printers! I can't uninstall the printers because they're not there. I started to download the latest printer driver for the Epson, but it stopped when I clicked "OK" to install it. It gave me the option of installing it manually, but I don't want to do that.

I haven't tried downloading the latest driver for the HP.

Can anyone help?

Oh, another weird thing that is hpapening: every so often I get a message with Microsoft Office Outlook Connector in the header, that says "Type your e-mail address and password. There is a grayed email address in the email address box, but oddly, it's my "live.com" address. I type in my password and the message goes away, but it pops up again later, and always when I reboot the computer.

Welcome can you try a system restore?

Hm, system restore. That sounds like a huge undertaking to me.

I have tried to download the Epson driver, but it always stops in mid-install.

I guess I should try the HP driver.

I cannot promise that System Restore will work, but I can promise that it is easy and that your personal documents will not be touched.

You can also try this:

Go to search type cmd, do not hit enter, run as administrator. Then in cmd prompt type this sfc /scannow.
