cant install windows updates

i cant install service pack 2 or Microsoft .net framework 3.5 sp1 and .net framework 3.5 family update(kb951847) x64 please help im really angry with this cause i just had to buy a new hard drive to fix this computer cause my other fried i get the error code 800b0100 everytime

Try this first.

1. Click Start, on "Start Search", type "cmd" (without quotations mark) and
right click the command prompt icon select Run as Administrator.
2. In command prompt, type the following command and Enter: regsvr32
wintrust.dll

Also, this can sometimes be caused by a firewall or AV.
Turn off your firewall and your AV and try to install the update.
Don't forget to re-enable everything when finished.

i have read a couple of threads about this already..i tell you what all I've tryed i have tryed doing that one. and same error. I've tryed the updates readiness tool and just to manually install sp2. i've tryed to do them separately sorry i didn't say this when i started this.

You are trying to install only one at a time?

I've tryed to do both at the same time and separately.yes I've tryed manually. im trying the system readiness tool again right now.with my fingers crossed lol

do you think i could be something with me new hard drive or my recovery disk when i used them to put vista back on

Just a guess, but I do not think so.

the update readiness tool didnt work again. any ideas?
