hi folks, i am having trouble installing security updates for microsoft.net framework 1.1 and i am wandering if i need microsoft.net framework 1.1 if i have microsoft.net framework 3.5 sp1, can anybody please advise thanks.i have windows vista premium 32-bit thanks.

install the package if windows update has it listed on the express options, you probably have an app that requires it. the various .net installs are not just upgrades on each other but are separate packages of liberary files/code etc that apps need to access.

I have .net 1.x, 2.x and 3.x installed because various things require one or the other. There's no harm in keeping all the various versions of ,net onboard.
