Restore Programs in Start Menu

Hello.

I run Vista Home Premium.

After installing in a separate partition a copy of Windows Vista Ultimate, all my programs in my Vista Home Premium disappear from my Start Menu.

Yet, they are still in the C drive and I can access them.

How do I manage to put them all again in the start menu?

Thanks

Hello Argentus.

Maybe you should concentrate on 1 issue at a time as they are probably related, though for the time being, have a look at the tutorial at the link below to see if this is the issue you are referring to here; be sure to post back to keep us informed.

Thanks Bare Foot Kid.

I installed Vista Ultimate Eternity in a partition in my laptop, which is running Vista Home Premium. I ins After the installation, I noticed that if I chose to use Vista Home Premium as OS, all the programs were not present in the Start Menu.

However they are all in the Program Files (x86) folder.

I would like to restore the shortcuts to the start menu to access them easily.

Any ideas how to do that?

THanks!!

Hello again Argentus.

What you have to do is, go to "Program Files" for each program/app you want to add an entry for and find the "Application" file that opens the prog/app and right click and select "Pin to start menu", or you could choose to put a shortcut on the desktop the same way, or both.

Excellent. I will give it a try. But how do I ensure that those programs will also show up in the ALL PROGRAMS section. Right now they are not there either?

thanks!

My Computer

Hello Argentus,

I am new to this forum, and facing same problem. I use Windows Vista Home. This issue was in effect from when i used a uninstaller tool for removing VS2008 from my laptop. It removed safely the complete VS from my laptop, but from that day, when ever I install a new software in my laptop, the folder representing the new software will come in start menu, but inside that folder, there will be nothing (Empty). I was supposed to see the shortcut in that folder, but they are missing, whereas the shortcuts for desktop is working good. But the default shortcuts in start menu are missing.

I tried what "Bare Foot Kid" said but cannot find the "Pin to start menu" when i rightclick the exe file in program files. Please suggest.

Thanks in advance!
