Hi
I was just re-installing vista
and it asked me for the product key
I used the one at the bottom of my laptop which i have never used before
It showed me it is invalid.
What to do?

my 2nd question:
can i go to control panel --> system--> and there it shows my the product ID
Can i use that instead??????????

No you can't use the product ID to activate.

Make sure you typed the product key correctly.

Try using the automated phone activation service (if available).

If not contact Microsoft and ask for them to give you a new product key.

I it's not activated no.

Even on the old installation no because that came with a one activation key that was from the factory install.
