Spooler problem - HELP

On trying to print I received a message telling that no printer was installed. Further investigation showed that my printer was not being recognised by Windows. I then received a message telling me that "The spooler sub system app had been closed by Data Execution Prevention"

There seems to be a procedure to stop the DEP from affecting a particular application but I'm unable to identify the actual files that have been closed down. I attempted to stop DEP from affecting a file called 'spoolsv' but was told that this cannot be done.

Any ideas on how to retrieve the situation and get the printer working again. Incidentally, the printer works fine with another machine.

Sorry I'm a bit late in replying. Unfortunately your suggestion didn't work - as soon as I reset the spooler the Data Execution Prevention facility stopped it working almost immediately. The problem has now been solved by removing the last item in the print list which seems to have caused the problem in the first place (Google map directions) This can't be done unless the spooler is running so the spooler has to be re-started in services and the document removed from the printer list in the milli-second before the DEP steps in and stops it again. Not easy but just possible.
