auto shutdown scheduling in win7 home premium 64

i am newbie, and heard somewhere that autoshutdown can be scheduled using task scheduler...

i tried procedure given for winxp
i scheduled daily run of shutdown.exe

C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe

but it doesn't work...

no one gave any response on that forum...

help plz....

The solution is easier than you are hoping for (unless something else has gone wrong!) When you run shutdown, all you do is display the help for the program, to shutdown the computer, you need to suppy the shutdown parameter /s, the force parameter /f, so you get the full command: shutdown.exe /s /f

Go past any UAC prompts if necessary. Now, press the Windows Key + R to open the Run dialogue. Type cmd and press enter. Type shutdown.exe /? into Command Prompt, and see if there are any more parameters that you want to use.

Here is a software that will help you schedule your shutdown, logoff, restart and everything. it is really good and i guess that it is better for you.
