Solved Restore shortcut?

Pilgrim3

Member
Having changed the menu entry "Pictures" to point at a folder on a non-"C" drive, after restart the shortcut points to nothing and refuses to re-assign.
This also leads to an error when installing Google Earth and the install failing.

Any ideas please?

Two possible remedies

One make a new short cut

Two Type picture in search, when it comes up, right click propeties. Find out the location and then change it in the shortcut (target)

Good idea.
Didn't work but.

Menu target

I keep my Pictures on a non-C drive.
I tried to change the target of the Pictures tab on the right side of the start menu to
E:Pictures.
After a restart the target line is blank and apply is grayed out.
As a result programs which access Pictures,e.g. Google Earth, don't work.
How,please, can I fix this?

If I understand correctly you made the original change to the Pictures shortcut in the Start menu?

This hasn't been specifically mentioned, have you tried:

Right-click Pictures shortcut > Properties > Location tab > Restore Default?

There is no location tab, only a simple properties window.
I've also tried going to the menu properties and restoring default but still no result.

Thank you Shawn,
That worked perfectly restoring the menu tab to C:\Users\Pilgrim.
Now I'll try using the Location>Find Target to point it at the correct folder.

And that worked too.
I owe you a scone.
