Vista 64bit on 1.25gb of ram

Hey I am new to this forum
Was just wondering would vista 64bit run on my p4- 3.0ghz with 1.25gb ram
In my school comp(My schools and my computers configuration is the same) vista 64bit Ultimate runs properly and without any lag even when using office.
Please advice me. Corrupted my vista 32 installation and have only vista 64bit.

TBH, Vista likes all the RAM it can get, if you have the means to add more I would suggest you do so, whether it be 32-bit or 64-bit Vista, the more the better.

It depends on what you are using the system for. If you are just doing word processing and using the internet then you have ample ram.
Have you got a seperate graphics card with its own memory or are you using on board graphics with shared system ram?
We need to know a little about your computer and what you are using it for before we can give a educated answer.
The minimal amount of ram for most builds would be 2 - 4 GB or 8GB for graphics work and gaming.

My comp has an onboard graphics card
Intel 82865G
Not interested in running vista with aero cause my card wont support it.
Is Win7 any better than vista? If then how?

Your system is sharing the RAM for graphics as well as system memory.
