Access System Volume Information to save restore points to USB

Hi,

I'm trying to access the System Volume Information on my computer. From what I've read, I believe it's located on D:\ drive. When I go to Computer> D:\ all that is there is a file named RECOVERY. That file is empty. I'd like to know exactly where the System Volume Information folder is. I believe it's supposed to be in the Root Folder-- also on D:\ drive, but that's not anywhere to be seen. It's my thought that someone has made the Root Folder inaccessable to me, and since I own this computer, I'd like to be able to access it. I may be wrong about the specific location of the Root Folder and the System Volume Information, and if so, any insight would be helpful.

The reason I want to a find the System Volume Information is because I'd like to save my restore points onto a USB stick. I think this is possible, but if someone could verify this it would be good.

I did some reading online about CACLS command prompts when trying to find out where the System Volume Information is, and it's complicated. If there's a way, though, that using the CACLS code will allow me to access the Root/System Volume Information folder, I'm willing to try and use cmd prompt if someone can give me the correct code. I just need it explained clearly. If there's a way to gain access using regedit, I'm willing to try that as well.

Any help is really appreciated.
