Moving Files - Try Again!

Hi All,

I have a file (say a .pdf) on my desktop that I want to move to my USB drive. I hit copy, then paste in the drive window. Vista says that it can't file the file in that location (Try Again!). I can move, copy, and paste and access the file otherwise within Vista. This happens with all files I try to export offsystem to a drive.

Thought it might be the Take Ownership thing, so downloaded the registry edit from here for the context menu. No go, same thing!

Please help me before I go insane!

If the USB drive is plugged in and you right click on the folder, send to. Does the drive show?

Bizarrely, a new drive does appear in Send To..

But it isn't the same letter drive ie. appears as J: in my computer but K: in Send To. WTH? I hadn't noticed that.
