Solved Sleep batch file?

How do I create a batch file that will put my computer to sleep mode? I want to run it in task scheduler so it auto sleeps my computer.

Well, Question not solved yet, but when the sleep.vbs runs via task manager, it brings up the options list on if you want to sleep, shutdown, hibernate, and lock. But if i manually click on sleep.vbs, it goes right to sleep.

How do I fix this?

See if using the shortcut in METHOD TWO here to run from the task will work better for you instead. Be sure that you have hibernate disabled though, or it will hibernate instead of sleep when the shortcut is used.

Thank's Brink. The Sleep shortcut now works but Task Manager still won't put my computer to sleep at 1am. I have it all set up right, so I'm confused. Although I get an error message when I start task manager, it should work, because my other tasks still work.

The sleep shortcut is in the folder where task scheduler looks for it.

I noticed the program path in the 2nd screenshot from the top on the left does not have the path to the shortcut.

I made the target "C:\Program Files\Sleep Shortcut\Sleep.lnk" with quotations, and HOPEFULLY it works.

Well, I'm confused. I think it needs to be a batch file for it to work.

I found the fix, lol. Unexpectedly. I found a gadget that will put my computer to sleep on a timer. I tested it and set a timer for it to sleep at 11 PM. It did it flawlessly, and I have it in task scheduler to wake my computer with a message, which I know it works, since I put my computer to sleep manually one night to test it. Thanks for the help Brink, found it on one of your tutorials I believe.

The program I'm using is AutoShutdown Restyled.

Ok Snow. I figured it out.

Use the command below for the program to run in "Actions" like in the screenshot below.

C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe

Next, use this as the argument:

powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState
