HP DV9700 Lights in volume don't light up anymore

Is there any way to stop losing the lights in my volume bar, after I do a hard reset it fixes it, but I then lose it again a few hours later. Mostly I only lose the + and - lights, but sometimes I lose the volume control as well?
OS Vista Home Premium.

Is there a fix to stop this from happening all the time without doing the hard reset almost every day. Or is there a internal problem with my laptop that I can't fix myself?

Has anybody got any ideas to help me out?

Thanks Dave for your reply,

I've been looking for a driver but couldn't find the right one.I tried the HP Quick Launch Buttons driver,it seemed to have fixed it after shutting down then I had to do another hard reset. But then after the restart I got this message, "HIDData.exe has stopped working error", could be a problem with a bluetooth mouse device so I had to uninstall the driver. But so far so good the lights still work.
Hopefully it's fixed now, with your help.

I'll post how it goes..

It seems to have fixed it, the lights are still working 3 days later. That's a record, but now I've lost the volume control adjustment sounds. How do I get these back?

Thanks for all the help Dave. I first downloaded and installed sp38371 and I got the HIDDATA.exe error, which caused me some problems with my bluetooth adapter, so I uninstalled it, but then I lost my Quick Touch Volume Sounds and Volume Icon in the Notification Area. I ended up downloading sp38361.

Everything is currently back to normal now, fingers crossed no more problems!
Couldn't have done it without your help Dave. Thanks to the Vista Forum...

Good onya mate
