Solved Problem with Desktop icons

Vista Home Premium.
Just increased the size of the desktop icons from the default to 106 DPI. The icons previously on the desktop are fine, but when any kind of pic file is added to the desktop it has white box bordering the icon.
I went back to the default setting, no help. I've looked online and there's all kinds of tricks (switching from 32 bit to 16 bit then back to 32 bit), but no real solutions that I can find. I've checked the knowledge base here and nothing really addresses a solution.
Any help in getting rid of this white box would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This is normal for a picture thumbnail preview border. You just do not normally notice at 96 DPI like you do at 106 DPI. You can change the thumbnail border using either step 1 or 2 in OPTION ONE of the tutorial below to get rid if it.

Brink - Can't thank you enough. Never knew about this. In the years of using Vista this has never presented itself until now. It must have something ti do with increasing the font size that 'triggered' the border to display. Not necessary to answer, but I am now curious as to why the border would not go away after I changed the setting back to its default 96 DPI. Probably lies within the registry.
Anyway, thanks again for you help and providing the answer so quickly.

You're most welcome Mark. I would guess that it must have been triggered by changing the DPI as well.
