hi, I am currently running ubuntu 10.04 and i am trying to reinstall vista with the reinstallation disc Dell gave me, however it is coming up with error code 0x80004005 saying that it needs 457mb of temporary space to continue, my laptop is empty so any help is appreciated. thanks.

in case you're wondering i'm trying to save myself some money by purchasing the 7 upgrade disc instead of the fresh 7 disc, so need to get back to vista first...

I think that is the correct solution to the problem. It was my original idea, but Googled to be sure.

i'm not having any luck with it as the vista loader is currently just a program running within my current OS, so pressing shift f10 doesn't do anything. could the problem be to do with the fact that i have 2 hard drives in my laptop? so a kinda physical partition...

Is the computer set to boot from the DVD?

i've tried but i'm having difficulty doing that as i'm not using the dvd drive in my laptop as it is broke, i'm using an external USB one which i'm not sure my laptop recognises upon booting.

will, do although i think my next method will be to torrent vista (ok cos i already own it and have a legit product key) then put it on a usb stick and boot from it that way as i know this should work as it is how i put ubuntu on here in the first place. here goes nothing...
