I cannot for the life of me figure out my administrator password. I thought I knew what it is, but for some reason it isn't working and I don't know why. I also have the user account control on. I am using a standard user account right now. I can't download anything with the user account control on, and because I can't remember the administrator password.. I can't turn it off. I tried resetting the administrator password using the command prompt, but all I get is "System Error 5 has occurred. Access is denied." That is the only administrator account and I switched the administrator to that account August 13th. I don't know what to do. I don't have a password reset disk or a Vista disk. Please help!

You could use METHOD THREE in the tutorial below to reset you password using the reset disc created in it to regain access to your user account.

You could use a friends computer to download and create the reset disk with if they will let you, then boot from the reset disk on your computer to reset your password?
If not, then you could also use the tutorial below with your Vista installation disk and enter the System Recovery Options screen at boot to reset your password instead.

You could create a windows password reset disk on an available computer which could download from Internet. With the disk you could remove the lost password. Only four steps:
Step 1: Download software windows login recovery and install it on the available computer
Step 2: Run the software and use it to burn a Windows password recovery disk (you could burn the file into the blank CD/DVD or USB flash drive)
Step 3: Change the BIOS setting of your locked computer to make it boot from the CD-ROM (Start computer and press F2 or Delete to enter BISO setup)
Step 4: Boot your locked computer from the created disk and remove the Windows password
It is easy and safe. Hope to help you.
