how to read .eml in Vista?

Am using Google and have Vista...after downloading a .eml attachment, I cannot open it. What do I need to add to system?

EML file types can be opened with a number of programs: EML File Extension - Open .EML files including, but not listed, Windows Mail. It can also be done by changing the file extension and viewed with Internet explorer as explained in the above article.

I suggested Windows Mail because it comes with Vista and you won't need to buy anything (or you can also use Internet Explorer as explained above which is again free but not as convenient as an e-mail program). Personally, I use Outlook 2007 but that is rather costly; however, I occasionally do use Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail (also free) for newsgroups and when I have problems with Outlook (especially synchronizing Outlook Connector) and have all three programs storing the emails and contacts so I have backups in case of a problem (but that level of redundancy is certainly not required - I just REALLY don't want to lose that information). There are many e-mail program choices out there - some free, some inexpensive, and some costly. Make sure whichever one you pick can read EML files (it should be in the program information or in links provided there). I'm sure you'll get many options suggested here. Remember however that you don't need to get anything if you don't want as you already have Windows Mail and can use that once it is properly configured. The choice is entirely yours.
