MDAC under Vista x64

Hi Guys.gals.

Now I've search the forums for MDAC and everything appears to be archived so I can't add my point.

I write programmes using VB6. I made an app that uses a database for a VW forums and the complaint was he doesn't have Program Files\Common File\Microsoft Shared\DAO\dao360.dll. It works perfectly on my Vista 32bit but it appears that M$ in there wisdom don't install it on Vista 64bit and probably Windows 7 64bit. I've searched M$ and I don't see any updates.

The other thing is the app uses an ActiveX COMCTL32.OCX which is used for controls. He says I'm getting error COMCTL32.OCX is not correctly registered. Now I've been using VB for many many years and COMCTL32.OCX doesn't have to be registered for using an app its only when you are developing an app. You just normally just put it in the Windows\System32 folder thats it.

I said if its in that folder you can just Run: regsvr32.exe COMCTL32.OCX to register it. I'm told since that Vista x64 has 2 regsvr32's one to 32bit and one for 64 bit. Does anyone else know it thats true, if so where are they located?

Anyone suggest any ways to overcome this? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Cheers. ;)

Keith.
