My Vista computer went down with a thud about 3 weeks ago and I am trying to get this spaghetti back up but it won't boot at all and I can't find my Vista startup disks that I made when I bought the computer. I have the System disk but have had no luck trying to find a site that will let me download a generic startup disk. My laptop is windows 7. ANY advice on this would be much appreciated. I went to a friend of mine who works on computers and he said he would provide a copy of stompu (?) which would boot the computer but he wanted $50 (!) Thanks Buddy, I'll find my startups if I need to (no luck so far) Help!

My Vista computer won't come up at all so it is basically dead. and useless in helping get a disk for Vista. I notice that when I click on "For the 32 bit (x86) Vista -" it comes up with a file named www.vistax64 Is that correct? Odd that it should say that on the 32 bit app.
Can you get to system restore from safe mode?
