Crazy erratic cursor

Cursor clicks the x and file buttons, moves my tool bar. All kinds of stuff. It also freezes and I have to restart my computer. It does it when I am in the middle of using my touch pad and when I use a USB mouse. I have tried turning the touch pad off and using just a usb mouse. I can not play any games. It just jumps everywhere. It also clicks my start button. I am using a laptop. I have tried virus scan, malware scan, spyware scan....everything scan.... I tried rolling back the drivers. Can you help?

Try Trend Micro Housecall they will scan your computer on line with multiple scanners.
Have you used any speed up type programs as they can cause the mouse to stutter and flicker.
set a restore point then go to device manager and expand the properties box of mice and other pointing devices and uninstall the driver.
Exit and restart your computer
Windows will look for the driver.
Update it after and restart.
If that fails you will have your restore point to return to.

Weakest part of my computer is the graphics chipset.
    Only ever used a laptop.
Also use USB Freeview TV Card
    Lenovo Docking Station
    External Speakers
Other bits a pieces as needed
Go to Start / Control Panel / Mouse and turn off tapping if it is on. Also make sure the USB mouse is on a flat, solid-color surface (preferably a soft mouse pad specifically dsigned for mice and not a wooden or glass tabletop which can cause this type of behavior). I use a solid grey one with a wrist rest for ergonomic ease - it was inexpensive but works just great.

If re-installing the drivers as suggested above doesn't resolve the problem, go to the USB mouse manufacturer's website and get the newest drivers, firmware, and/or software for your mouse and version of Vista and update what you currently have and then reboot and see if that makes a difference. Proceed as follows to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm. Once you have the drivers, you can install them through Device Manager as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html. If firmware and/or sofware is included, install them as instructed.

When done, if this works, you may want to do the same for your touchpad from the computer manufacturer's website. That may resolve that problem as well and then you'll have your choice once again.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!
