I use a Vista Home Premium 32bit computer.....
I added program icons to the taskbar, but want to now remove them. I've tried
without success. Can someone help me please?.

Just go to task bar icon, right click and then unpin.

If it's a Systems Icon: Right click on the Start button, select Properties, Notification Area, and under the System Icons list, check the box(es) of the icons you want to show. ( i.e. Clock, Volume, Network, and Power).
(You can also do this from the Task Bar and Start Menu in Control Panel.)

If it's a QuickLaunch icon: follow the directions in the Tutorial - How to Use Quick Launch in Vista (and if it IS a QuickLaunch icon, let us know, because there is a ton of additional information available about QuickLaunch icons/apps).

Also --- Have you unlocked your Taskbar? You may be able to remove it after you unlock your Taskbar.

The other way to remove is by going into the program file and removing the icon file there.

Hi,

Please place your mouse near but to the left hand site of the position where my i-explorer task is showing & press right mouse.

Then select open as per the picture.

This will then open the Quick launch shortcut folder.

You can then delete icons "That show there" in the folder where they arestored & displayed on the task bar.

That is provided that is where they are on your system that you want to delete?

If now could you be more specific in there location & I will try to assist further.

I think only Win7 has unpin, I just use the delete option for the quick launch icons. ;)

You may very well be right. Using Windows 7, now. The two OS are almost identical, but as you see there are some small differences, which I may have forgotten. I have not used Vista since 10/09.
