Solved adding printer driver for HP inkjet to Vista system

Last year I bought a HP Pavilion running Vista, and I'd like to download a driver for my HP 5 printer. HP tells me it can't be done, but has anyone managed to do it? I have downloaded a file with an "inf" extension on my hard drive for the printer; I found a tutorial but can't see the tab for the driver under devices. Thanks.

The tutorial I received is the same one that doesn't seem to work because the "devices" list doesn't include the printer I want to select and install.

Then its plan 2. Go to the website and download from there. If there are no drivers, you can try an xp driver and download in compatabilty mode.

Like you suggested, I found a compatible driver for older printers on HP's website and it pretty much installed itself. Thanks a bunch!
