Hi,

There are several ways to do this & all depend on: -
  1. What the program is
  2. If the item is to be a system resource or user dependant (single log-on function & not for others etc.
  3. If the item has an option in it's setting to start when the system starts etc. etc.
So first what is the name & version of a program you wish to start? This information will assist with the correct identification of which option should be sellected.

Post back & I will assist further.

The program is Calibre which is an e-book programme which I use by scheduling it to collect news form specific sources for my Kindle. If the program isn't on when the schedule is due to operate, it will do the task on starting the program so it's usfeul for me to just switch on the PC in the morning, let it boot up, operate the program and send the news to my kindle without having to do more.

I looked in the help section and couldn't see sn option for the program to put itself in start up

Cheers

Hi,

Well this case (as whs said) easiest option its to copy a shortcut to the startup folder in Windows.

Do as whs said or as an alternate option: -

First, copy the shortcut on your desktop or start menu, programs etc.

Then go to: -

Start, All programs, start up

At this point "right mouse" & select explore "all users" or open (If it's only for you)

Then in that window, right mouse & paste the shortcut there. You can now close window once it has appeared.

To check you have correctly done this look in Start, programs, start up

The new item should be now there.

Any issues post a new message & I help further or if all is well, close this posted issue.
